12U Baseball Practice Plan
By 12U, players can handle a full 2-hour practice with real position specialization and advanced situations like first-and-third, bunt defense, and pickoffs. This is the last year on the smaller field for many players, so practices should sharpen fundamentals while adding the game IQ they will need at the next level.
This free 12U baseball practice plan front-loads skill work and finishes with competitive, game-speed reps. Download the printable PDF, or build your own version in the free Practice Planner.
What to Focus On at 12U
Advanced situations
First-and-third defense, bunt coverage, pickoffs, and rundowns. Run each as a station so reps are high, then test them in a controlled scrimmage.
Position specialization
Players can start owning one or two positions. Build in dedicated infield, outfield, and battery work rather than rotating everyone through everything.
Game-speed hitting and conditioning
Live batting practice with situations (runner on second, less than two outs) plus short conditioning builds the competitiveness 12U players are ready for.
