Infield Drill: Box Drill- 2nd Baseman Double Play Feeds (Baseball & Softball)
Box drill teaching second baseman feeds for double plays. Use bare hands to increase concentration. Key: keep ball in front of body, dont turn.

How to Run This Drill
- Create a box with four players standing 15-25 feet apart (closer for younger players). A fifth player stands behind one corner.
- Do NOT use gloves - bare hands increase concentration on the ball.
- Each player faces the corner to their LEFT. The feed goes to the player on their RIGHT.
- Tosser shuffles or crosses over toward second base, keeping the hand with the ball IN FRONT of the body.
- Flip the ball to the player at the corner to the right WITHOUT TURNING THE BODY. Leave the hand high after the flip.
- Follow the flip to the next corner. The technique feels awkward because the hand stays in front at all times - no turning allowed.
Coaching Points
- Bare hands - no gloves - increases focus
- Keep ball in front of body at all times
- Do NOT turn body toward target
- Stiff wrist on the flip - no extra arm motion
- Leave hand high after the flip
- Follow the flip to the next corner
