10U Softball Practice Plan

ages 9 to 1090 minutesFree printable PDF

At 10U, fastpitch players can handle longer drill sequences and the first real situational softball. A 90-minute practice gives you time to sharpen fundamentals while teaching cutoffs, force outs, and where to throw the ball. Keep everyone moving with stations instead of one big group.

This free 10U softball practice plan balances hitting, defense, and live reps, with dedicated time for pitchers and catchers. Download the printable PDF, or adjust it in the free Practice Planner.

What to Focus On at 10U

Situational defense

Begin teaching cutoffs and relays, force outs, and getting the lead runner. Walk through each situation slowly, then add a runner to make it game speed.

Windmill pitching and catching

Fastpitch means dedicated time for your pitchers and catchers. Build in bullpen and blocking work while the rest of the team rotates through hitting and fielding.

Live and front-toss hitting

Mix tee and front toss for mechanics with live or machine pitching for timing. Rotate small groups so each hitter gets 10 or more quality swings.
