Outfield Drill: Trust Catch (Softball)
Outfielders practice making over-the-shoulder catches by reading the coach's directional signal and tracking the ball.

How to Run This Drill
- Line team up in the outfield
- Coach stands in front with bucket of balls
- On coach's call, first player takes one step toward coach
- Coach points right or left
- Player takes step in that direction as coach throws ball over their corresponding shoulder
- Player tracks ball and makes over-the-shoulder catch
- Rate each catch on scale of 1-10 for fun
Coaching Points
- Glide on balls of feet, don't full-out run
- Steady head helps track the ball accurately
- Trust your route - don't second guess yourself
