Before you buy a bat, check the stamp. Rec leagues like Little League, Cal Ripken, and Pony require a USA Baseball bat, most travel ball requires USSSA, and high school requires a BBCOR -3 through the 2027 season. Today's BBCOR bats stay legal after the new -4, -5, and -6 options arrive in 2028, so a -3 bought this fall is safe.
