Catching Drill: Self Toss Transfers (Softball)
Catchers practice quick glove-to-hand transfers by tossing the ball to themselves and immediately getting to throwing position. Can be done at home or outside against any wall.

How to Run This Drill
- Hold ball in throwing hand
- Toss ball against wall and catch with glove
- Immediately transfer to throwing hand
- Get to throwing position
- Reset and repeat
- Focus on smooth, quick transfers
Coaching Points
- Emphasize successful transfers on every rep
- Then as a secondary focus, emphasize speed
- Great drill for homework (50 self-toss transfers a day)
