Catching Drill: Crouch Walks (Baseball & Softball)
A catcher's endurance drill done from the crouch: giving signs, shifting inside and outside, and walking forward, back and sideways so the legs hold up through long games and doubleheaders.

How to Run This Drill
- Get down in your catching crouch
- Practice giving signs from the crouch
- Shift to set up on the inside, then on the outside
- Walk forward and back while staying in the crouch
- Step out to one side, then the other, without standing up
- Do it at home in front of the TV to stack up time in the position
Coaching Points
- Catchers live in this squat, so get comfortable there
- Strong legs in the crouch mean you can still play at your peak late in a doubleheader
- No field needed; this is a drill to do at home
