Hitting Drill: Tee Work Basics (Baseball & Softball)
Foundational hitting drill using a batting tee to develop proper swing mechanics, bat path, and consistent contact across all zones.
Instructions
Player assumes proper batting stance: feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, weight balanced Place ball on tee at belt height, aligned with front of home plate Player takes slow practice swing focusing on bat path through the zone Execute 5 swings, focusing on hitting the ball to center field (straight away) Adjust tee height: 5 swings at knee level, 5 at belt, 5 at chest Move tee position: 5 swings with ball inside (closer to body), 5 outside (away from body) After each set of 5, pause to evaluate swing and make adjustments
