Infield Drill: Infield Rhythm Drill (Softball)
Quick-paced infield drill developing rhythm and smooth transfers during ground ball fielding.

How to Run This Drill
- Setup a line of cones
- Position infielder at the cone at the back of the line of cones
- Player starts at cone until ball is rolled
- Coach will roll ball away from the cone (to the player's left)
- They will field the ball, toss back to coach, and shuffle back to the next cone in line
- Repeat having players field, transfer, and throw in rhythm
- Focus on consistent timing and emphasize getting momentum left through the ball towards 1st base
- Gradually increase pace as players improve
Coaching Points
- Develop muscle memory through repetition
- Goal is to have player always moving feet
- Emphasize moving through the ball while fielding with momentum
- Stay low throughout the play
- Quick but smooth transfers
