How to Run This Drill

  1. Player stands in batter's box in stance
  2. Coach bounces baseball on bucket just in front of home plate
  3. Player sits back and waits for ball to reach its apex
  4. At apex, player swings to hit a line drive up the middle
  5. Focus on timing and letting the ball come to you
  6. Repeat for multiple swings

Coaching Points

  • Sit back on the ball - don't lunge
  • Wait for the apex before swinging
  • Coach - make sure you bounce the ball and back away to avoid getting hit
