How to Run This Drill
- Player stands in batter's box in stance
- Coach bounces baseball on bucket just in front of home plate
- Player sits back and waits for ball to reach its apex
- At apex, player swings to hit a line drive up the middle
- Focus on timing and letting the ball come to you
- Repeat for multiple swings
Coaching Points
- Sit back on the ball - don't lunge
- Wait for the apex before swinging
- Coach - make sure you bounce the ball and back away to avoid getting hit
