Infield Drill: Grab Bag (Baseball & Softball)
Players alternate catching bare-handed grounders and pop-ups, switching lines after each rep. Keeps players on their toes with random ball types.
How to Run This Drill
- Place two cones 10 feet apart in the outfield. Divide the team in half and line up each group behind a cone. Stand about 15 feet in front of and between the two cones with a bucket of practice balls.
- The first players in each line step up and get into ready position.
- Start sending grounders to one line and pop-ups to the other. Players field each throw using the correct technique.
- After fielding, players throw the ball back to you and move to the end of the other line.
- In the second round, throw a mix of pop-ups and grounders to each line so the players
- stay on their toes.
