Warmup Drill: Dynamic Warmup Circuit (Baseball & Softball)
Complete dynamic warmup circuit using cones. Cover all major movement patterns before throwing or practice activities.
How to Run This Drill
- Set up cones 30-40 feet apart. Players line up in groups of 4-5.
- Movement 1: Light jog to the cone and back.
- Movement 2: High knees to the cone, jog back.
- Movement 3: Butt kicks to the cone, jog back.
- Movement 4: Karaoke/Carioca to the cone (both directions).
- Movement 5: Walking lunges to the cone.
- Movement 6: Leg swings (forward/back, then side to side) at the cone.
- Movement 7: Arm circles (large and small, forward and backward).
Coaching Points
- Each movement to the cone and back
- Keep groups moving - no standing around
- Progress from easy to more intense
- Arm circles at the end prepare for throwing
- Should take 5-7 minutes total
- Do before every practice and game
