Warmup Drill: Dynamic Warmup Circuit (Baseball & Softball)

Complete dynamic warmup circuit using cones. Cover all major movement patterns before throwing or practice activities.

How to Run This Drill

  1. Set up cones 30-40 feet apart. Players line up in groups of 4-5.
  2. Movement 1: Light jog to the cone and back.
  3. Movement 2: High knees to the cone, jog back.
  4. Movement 3: Butt kicks to the cone, jog back.
  5. Movement 4: Karaoke/Carioca to the cone (both directions).
  6. Movement 5: Walking lunges to the cone.
  7. Movement 6: Leg swings (forward/back, then side to side) at the cone.
  8. Movement 7: Arm circles (large and small, forward and backward).

Coaching Points

  • Each movement to the cone and back
  • Keep groups moving - no standing around
  • Progress from easy to more intense
  • Arm circles at the end prepare for throwing
  • Should take 5-7 minutes total
  • Do before every practice and game
