Infield Drill: Dry Action Cone Drill (Baseball & Softball)
A dry footwork circuit where cones represent glove alignment for each type of ground ball. The fielder returns to center between reps and presses the feet through every ball.

How to Run This Drill
- Set orange cones to represent glove alignment for each ball type
- Start the fielder at a center position
- Take a routine ground ball, field it, and press your feet through
- Return to center
- Take a backhand, rake it, and press your feet through
- Return to center
- Take a one-handed ball to your left
- Return to center
- Take a two-handed shallow ground ball and press through
- Return to center between every rep
Coaching Points
- The cones represent glove alignment, so the fielder can see where the glove belongs
- Press the feet through every ground ball type, not just the routine one
- Always align and plant the feet before the throw
- Covers several ground ball types in one dry rep sequence with no ball needed
