Hitting Drill: Bunting Bonanza (Baseball & Softball)
Hitters practice laying down bunts while fielders work on bunt defense rotations in a competitive game format.

How to Run This Drill
- Send fielders to each defensive position
- Set up runner on first, hitter at plate, rest on deck
- Coach pitches from in front of mound
- Set up four cones as gates for bunt targets
- Hitters are only allowed to bunt
- Fielders must execute proper rotation (2B and SS cover first/third)
- Offense: 1 point for advancing runner, 2 points if batter safe at first
- Defense: 1 point for out at first, 3 points for double play
Coaching Points
- Fielders: slow down and focus on making right decision
- Hitters: still choose your pitches wisely
- A bunt is still a swing - pitch selection matters
