Infield Drill: Belly Up (Baseball & Softball)
Reaction drill where players start lying on their backs and must quickly get up to field ground balls. Builds explosiveness and focus.
How to Run This Drill
- Players spread out in the infield area, lying flat on their backs with gloves on.
- Coach stands with a bucket of balls near home plate.
- Coach yells "Up!" and immediately rolls or hits a ground ball.
- Players must scramble to their feet as quickly as possible and field the ball cleanly.
- Once fielded, players throw to a designated target or place balls in a bucket.
- Reset and repeat. Can keep score based on clean plays.
