I recently stopped by Oasis Lanes for the first time in quite a while and noticed the batting cages located upstairs. Curious, I went up to take a look and was surprised to discover both batting cages and a gym facility. I later learned from a helpful Oasis employee that this area is operated by Diamond Sports. I initially assumed the facility was part of Oasis Lanes and began looking around. At that point, an employee with a beard abruptly approached me and asked, rather curtly, “Can I help you?” When I replied that I was simply looking around, he responded, “Well, not in there—it’s a liability,” and immediately turned away. This interaction felt unnecessarily dismissive and unwelcoming. A more courteous approach, such as offering a brief introduction to the facility or explaining the policy politely, would have made a far better impression. Given the negative experience and the attitude displayed, I have concerns about the customer service standards at Diamond Sports. As the parent of a high school athlete who might otherwise have been interested in their services, this encounter was particularly disappointing.
