What are gameday printables?
Gameday printables are reference cards coaches keep in the dugout binder for in-game decisions. They cover situational hitting (what to do with runners on and outs), bunt coverage (where each fielder goes), defensive shifts, pickoff plays, and printable wristband sign cards. Print them on cardstock and tape them inside the dugout for quick reference.
How do I use the situational hitting card?
The card is a 12-cell grid: rows are outs (0, 1, 2) and columns are base situations (empty, runner on first, runner on second, etc.). Each cell tells the hitter the default approach — move the runner, big-inning swing, two-strike battle, sacrifice, etc. Pair it with the offensive sign wristband so the hitter knows both the sign and the why behind it.
How does a baseball wristband sign system work?
A coach yells a 2- or 3-digit number from the dugout. Every player on the field looks at their wristband insert and decodes the live digit using the printed card. Pitch-call wristbands map the code to a pitch type and zone. Offensive wristbands map the live digit to a play (bunt, steal, hit-and-run, etc.). Decoy digits and a rotating live-digit indicator stop opposing dugouts from cracking the system.
Are wristband signs legal in Little League and high school baseball?
Yes. Wristband sign systems are legal at every level of organized baseball, including Little League, travel ball, USSSA, and NFHS high school. They have been used for decades and remain the standard for amateur baseball.
What paper should I print these on?
Cardstock (65–80 lb) is best — these are reference cards that get pinned, taped, or laminated into the dugout binder. The wristband inserts specifically should be printed on regular paper and laminated, then trimmed to fit a standard QB-style wristband holder.
