Hitting Drill: Tee Work (Baseball & Softball)
Foundation hitting drill on a batting tee. Focus on weight shift, keeping eyes on the ball, and driving through to a target.
How to Run This Drill
- Adjust the batting tee to a height that forces a slight downward swing to contact the ball.
- Set up hitting into a screen or net with a target to aim at.
- Work on weight shift: take all weight to the back side before exploding forward. Go back to go forward.
- Keep your head down and eyes locked on the ball through contact.
- Take the front foot and front shoulder directly toward the pitcher as you stride.
- Try to hit the ball at the target each time. Avoid an uppercut swing - drive through the ball.
