Infield Drill: Infield Star Drill (Softball)
Fun competitive drill combining infield defense with baserunning. Can the ball beat the runner around the bases?

How to Run This Drill
- Divide into two teams: infield (1B, 2B, SS, 3B + catcher) and baserunners
- Runner starts on first, rest wait on foul line
- Coach hits ground ball to second baseman
- As ball is hit, runner takes off trying to score
- 2B fields and throws to 3B (on bag), 3B throws to 1B (on bag), 1B throws to SS (at 2B), SS throws home
- If ball beats runner home = out. If runner scores = point for baserunners
- After all runners go, teams switch
Coaching Points
- Ball must touch every base in star pattern
- Runners go all out - no slowing down
- Infielders must be on bags for throws
