Hitting Drill: Change-Up Tee (Baseball & Softball)
Advanced tee drill with ball positioned deeper than normal to simulate change-up contact point, teaching how to stay back and let ball travel.

How to Run This Drill
- Tee set up in front of the middle of the plate, further away from the plate than a normal contact point
- Hitter sets up even with the plate, while partner places a ball on the tee
- Hitter keeps their hands back and the ball should be hit back through the middle of the field
- Objective is to learn how to sink into the front side while keeping the hands back to hit a changeup
- Focus is on sinking into the front leg after the stride foot lands while staying back with the hands
- Great for hitters that cannot stay back or commit early to over-stride • Partners switch after 10 swings
