Quick Start Guide
No account needed. Both tools below work immediately in your browser.
Create a Lineup (5 Minutes)
Step 1: Open the Lineup Generator
- Free version: Go to /lineup-generator
- Premium version: Go to /premium/lineup-generator (uses your saved teams and rosters)
Step 2: Configure League Settings
Set up the rules for your league:
- Sport: Baseball or Softball
- Number of innings: How many innings in your game
- Batting format: Traditional lineup or continuous batting order
- Rotate positions: Toggle on to move kids around the field each inning
- Pitcher cannot return: Toggle on if your league prevents a pitcher from returning to the mound after being pulled
- Max innings pitched: Set per-player pitching limits
- Co-ed rules: Set minimum gender requirements if applicable
Step 3: Add Players
Enter each player's name and set their position preferences on a 1-10 scale. Higher numbers mean stronger preference for that position. Mark players as available pitchers if they pitch.
Tip: Avoid giving every player a 10 at the same position. Spread preferences out so the algorithm has room to build a fair lineup.
Step 4: Generate
Click Generate Lineup. The algorithm creates a batting order and fielding rotation that distributes playing time fairly while respecting your position preferences and rules.
Step 5: Review
Switch between Table View (batting order and positions by inning) and Field View (visual diamond showing who plays where each inning) to check the result.
If something looks off, adjust preferences or rules and click Generate again.
Step 6: Export
- PDF: Print-ready lineup card
- CSV: Spreadsheet format
Premium users can also save the lineup to their account for game-day access.
Plan a Practice (10 Minutes)
Step 1: Open the Practice Planner
Go to /practice-planner. No account needed for the free version.
Step 2: Set Practice Details
- Sport: Baseball or Softball
- Age group: Affects which drills are recommended
- Duration: Total practice length (60, 90, or 120 minutes)
- Focus areas: Select what you want to work on (hitting, fielding, pitching, baserunning, etc.)
Step 3: Add Drills
Browse the drill library or let the system suggest drills based on your focus areas. Each drill shows:
- Setup instructions
- How to run it
- Coaching points
- Equipment needed
- Recommended duration
Click a drill to add it to your timeline.
Step 4: Arrange Your Timeline
Drag and drop blocks to reorder them. Adjust durations by dragging block edges. The timeline shows your full practice from start to finish.
For station-based practice: Create a station block with multiple stations inside it. Players rotate through all stations during the block.
For concurrent groups: Add separate blocks at the same time slot. Each group stays at their assigned block (e.g., infielders and outfielders working separately).
Step 5: Assign Players (Optional)
Assign players to stations or concurrent groups. The coverage tracker shows which players are assigned and which still need a spot.
Step 6: Export
Click Export PDF for a print-ready practice plan. It includes the full timeline, drill instructions, coaching points, and an equipment checklist.
Premium users can save the plan to their account and reuse it later.
