Junkyard Athletics in White Center is an absolute gem for ballplayers and families alike. The facility has a great variety of hitting cages, all equipped with Hack Attack pitching machines (baseball and softball) including one with a self feeder if you’re training solo. They also have plenty of L-screens and tees available, which makes it easy to get quality reps whether you’re working live BP, tee work, or focused drill sessions. Theres a nice workout area and it seems like new pieces of equipment arrive on the regular. A welcome addition is the dedicated area for tee work and soft toss, so players can properly prepare before jumping into the cages. The ping pong table and TV keep parents and siblings entertained. The White Center, West Seattle, Burien area has been needing this for a long time. Even better is that it’s a small business run by someone in the local community. If you’re looking for a well-equipped, welcoming baseball/softball training facility in the White Center area, Junkyard Athletics is the place to go. My son uses his membership 3+ times a week whether he’s working on his own or with his swing coach. Highly recommend!

The west side has long been in need of a place like Junkyard Athletics. And yet this joint turned out so much cooler than I even thought it could be. The fam hits here 2–3 times per week, in addition to going once weekly for a structured hitting lesson with our preferred swing coach. Wanna hit there with your coach? Do that. Sign up for an hour and bring him/her. Need a swing coach? Email the Junkyard and they can point you in a direction for baseball or softball. Wanna grab a time slot and come in and do tee work and get in some swings on your own? Do that. Wanna drop in and get a lift in? Do that. The place reminds me a little bit of the gym Apollo took Rocky to (in Rocky III) to rededicate himself to his craft. Only cleaner. I mean, it has that grit…where ballers put real work in. Yet it’s clean and safe. That’s a tough balance to strike, but the Junkyard pulled it off. If you play on a club team or for your school, throw your hat up on the shelf in there. Show that pride. It’s a cool vibe. The Junkyard was created for people in the community, who care about their community and it shows. Cool place to get in some work.

My family just joined Junkyard! It is a great addition to the White Center neighborhood. My 10 year old daughter is able to have hitting lessons at this location. They have everything you need to get full batting cage experience. The location, easy scheduling on app and accessibility has been a win for our family. Thank you for bringing a positive activity to our neighborhood.
