We have been going to Coach Mike for the last 4 months and have seen immediate and impressive results. Our initial motivation to see Coach Mike was because your 9 year old was having elbow pain with pitching. The initial steps involved a phone consultation and video review of our son pitching. Within a few hours of sending the video, Coach Mike illustrated the major pitching errors including the one that was likely the cause of our son's elbow pain that would put him a high risk of injury. The next few months involved in person sessions focusing on pitching with videotaping and detailed review. In such a short time, our son really has begun to look like a pitcher and most importantly, he hasn't had elbow pain in months even when playing fall ball. About a month ago, we included hitting lessons as well during half of the lesson. The evaluation and video reviews of our son hitting is similar to pitching. Within a few weeks of working on a few areas, our son is starting to look like a real hitter and we can tell even by the sound of the ball coming off the bat. Coach Mike diagnosed hitting and pitching errors quickly and was able to explain in simple terms how to incorporate remedies as neither myself or my wife know much about baseball. On a personal note, Coach Mike is a solid guy and is patient and connects well with our kid. Highly recommended

After struggling through our first year of kid pitch 9u select we found Coach Mike. Going to other hitting instructors was just a band aid that often was frustrating for my son. Mike does a great job not only instructing your son or daughter but helping the parent to see where movements breakdown. Mike uses video at each lesson and takes time to show you and your child the correct movements of the swing. After, the first lesson I knew we had made the right choice in hitting instructors. More importantly, my son is excited about baseball again and truly loves working with Coach Mike.

Our son has always been a fairly solid baseball player, consistently making and performing well on All-Star and Select teams. However, in middle school he began to lose ground against his peers, ultimately being cut on the last day of tryouts for his 8th grade team. We knew he needed to make a step-change improvement in the following year if he wanted a shot at making the high school team. We met with a few private coaches, and Mike immediately stood out as the one with the personality and tools to drive that improvement. Mike is not the cheapest private coach, but his knowledge of hitting and pitching mechanics, use of video analysis, and ability to hold both the athlete and the parents accountable are second to none. The first month was intense—in-depth video reviews, detailed breakdowns of current issues and required improvements, and a lot of homework to re-train muscle memory (most without picking up a bat or stepping on a mound). Mike’s rapport with the athletes keeps them engaged. His focus on “progress over perfection” resonated with my son and helped build trust and confidence. We saw significant improvements when our son stepped onto the field two months later (first at-bat was a HR). Mike is always asking for updates and videos from games and is able to immediately identify if anything is off. However, he also expects full participation from parents in the lessons because he expects the parents and the athletes to be able to identify and correct issues on their own. With Mike’s help over the past year, our son now starts for the sophomore baseball team as a freshman. Mike truly cares about making his players better and giving them confidence. If you and your son are fully committed to improving, Mike is the right guy for the job.

We reached out to Coach Mike 4 months ago. At the time, my son had only pitched a couple of innings in the previous little league season and had not done well. Our son is 11 years old and wanted to become a pitcher with his fall select team and be a starter in the upcoming spring little league season. As parents we want to ensure that our son’s mechanics do not place any unnecessary strain on his arm. In three months of working with Coach Mike, our son’s mechanics and self-awareness have dramatically improved his strike to ball ratio. During the past 6 weeks he has pitched 5 innings with a 55% strike percentage. His confidence is up and his ability to make adjustments is improving every week. We were so impressed with Coach Mike’s use of video and detailed coaching that about 4 weeks ago we asked Mike to also work with our son on batting. In just a month, our son’s batting average is around 0.400. Mike taught our son to make slight self-adjustments between at bats. Our son’s knowledge of what helps him drive the ball is making him a smarter batter. It has completely changed his response to poor at bats. He self-evaluates and is more focused on how to improve. Coach Mike is one of the most technical instructors we have ever been around. He breaks down mechanics for our son and provides pinpointed coaching. He’s 110% engaged with him at every session and is meticulous about explaining what he needs to learn and why. The most notable attribute Mike brings is his ability to connect with our son. The words Mike uses, the questions he asks, the videos he shows and the homework he assigns our son are next level. Mike is a natural teacher and a positive influence beyond the skills associated with the game our son loves. Mike is teaching our son how to be self-aware, how to learn and how to think under stress.
