Youth baseball has sadly become a money grab for so many of these private companies. The more you pay, the more your kid gets to see the field. You have to pay per tournament, you have to pay for private lessons ($100 an hour) and then if you aren’t completely broke by then, just maybe will your kid get to see an inning or 2. These coaches do not teach. They don’t encourage. They want to win the tournaments to market their private club and aren’t equipping the kids with the skills to grow and learn. These kids are 9! My advice would be to find a team/club/LL that actually practices and invests in your child. This place is not it.

Our 9 year old was pursued by LVBA after participating in their 2016 Christmas Camp, which by the way we highly recommend. At first we were hesitant at signing up being our son had no club experience coming from little league. My wife and I also heard that their dues and fees were very high. After attending several tryouts and my son being accepted, we spoke with Mike Martin the owner of the organization about getting started and felt very positive after learning there are only several months of the year the fees are high due to more activity. So it all kind of balances out. Their managers and coaching staff are credible and experienced and "daddy ball" doesn't exist. They are patient and tough but always treats the players with respect. All positions and batting line ups are earned and based on performance. They also rotate the players so they can learn other positions as well. Our team has experienced success and their share of failures, but the core focus is on development and not the chase of trophies. We have been part of the LVBA family now for a full year and have seen our son grow incredibly with their program in all areas of the sport. The only down side is that the organization doesn't allow guest playing for other teams and/ or playing little league. But other than that, all is spot on. If you have a desire for your child to get involved with a club team, we encourage you to check out the Las Vegas Baseball Academy- Lightning. Aloha and good luck.

My son plays nys 10u baseball. He doesn’t play club ball. I took my son to LVBA for spring clinics 2018. The head Coach Mike Martin and his coaching staff knew my sons name and all the others kids name for the spring clinics. I was amazed with about 50-60 boys at the clinics. It shows Coach Mike and his coaching team care and are passionate about what they are doing. I returned my son to the summer clinics and SIL 2018. My son was near the bottom talent wise. When my son turned a double play in the 2018 SIL, his coach praised him on a job well done. I was extremely amazed on the coaches reactions. My son also attended the winter baseball camp 2018. My son has improved so much in less than a year I can’t believe it. My son is attending the 5 week hitting program 2019. Before I starting taking my son to LVBA he could barely field a ground ball. I take him to the park every weekend now to field ground balls. My son makes it look so easy now. I am so overwhelmed with excitement on how my son has improved. It was money well spent and well worth it. Thank You Coach Mike and to his coaching Staff.
