Update 3/26/2019 They have made some renovations since last year. They now have their own (clean) bathroom instead of sharing with the machine shop in the other side of the building and a waiting area for parents with closed-circuit TV camera for watching the batting area. My son went for the 6 week baseball skills class and really enjoyed it. Now if the property owner would just clean up the side yard and let Batter's Box use it as a customer parking lot, this place would rate 5+ stars! Original review: Bare bones operation. There are 5 batting lanes available, which is better than many other places, so it's pretty easy to get space. It's also more reasonably priced than others in the area. But, there is only one ball pitching machine for the entire facility. So be prepared to hit from a T unless you have someone else pitching to you, or come during a slow time to hopefully get the machine. Owner also is not quick to return phone calls. The voicemail doesn't identify them as Batters Box, and even when a person does pick up, he simply said "Hello" w/o giving the company name. Not professional sounding at all. They share restroom facilities with another business in the same building. We only managed to find a men's room, and it's always filthy. Plus, you have to walk through the other business to get to it, which is some kind of repair or machine shop. That place is a mess and looks hazardous for curious young children on their way to the bathroom. Parking can also be tricky, but they have no control over that. We will continue to go because of the price and ease of getting cage time, plus it's not far from home for us. If they would get at least one more pitching machine, clean the bathroom, and answer/return calls in a more professional manner, I would consider increasing the rating to a 4 or even 5. Don't know how much a pitching machine costs, but bleach for the bathroom is only a few dollars, and saying, "Hello, Batters Box, how may I help you?" costs nothing. Update 5/8/18: Called Batter's Box to inquire On batting cage time, and got a voicemail that clearly identified the business. Although I did not get a return phone call, that is still a step in the right direction of making the place more professional. When we arrived at the facility, I noticed that there were now two ball pitching machines. I'm not sure if the second one was always there and just that I never noticed, or if it is a new addition. Further, my son did use the men's room facilities, and said that they were a bit cleaner than usual but still smelled awful. All in all a step in the right direction. I have increased my rating from three stars to 4 stars to reflect this.

Bobby Stevens is a great instructor and I would highly recommend him to all local youth baseball players in the Chicago area. Bobby also runs a great travel baseball organization, Windy City Baseball
