We visited Champions Park in Newberry this past weekend and had an overall good experience. The turf fields were a bit hot, but the bathrooms were clean and air-conditioned, which was a relief. One thing to note: the outfields have sand pits where players usually play, and they can be a bit dangerous, so be careful. The area behind home plate felt a little cramped with all the chairs crowded together. Concessions were great and conveniently located between each cluster of fields. Parking was okay, though the dust was intense; everything was covered in it within just a few hours of our arrival. Overall, a solid park for a weekend of games, just be prepared for the heat on the turf, the dusty parking lot, and the tricky outfield areas.

The “batting cages” are useless. Holes in most of the netting, not much turf left, only one L-screen. It’s basically just a hazard in the condition it is now. Infields are turf, outfields are some of the worst I’ve seen. Holes filled with sand, weeds everywhere. A lot of the outfield fencing has come loose from the poles. We’ve been coming down here 2-3x a year, for four years now, and seems like it’s a little worse each time.

We went for my sons baseball tournament and we had a great time! They placed second in the district championship! We're so proud of the boys for working so hard and all the effort they put into the games! I just don't like how the dugouts are. Make sure you bring your chairs also because there is no seating! But, other than that, it was great!

Infield turf looks new, but the mounds were roughly pieced together. The grass in the outfield is horrible. Giant pot holes everywhere and huge patches of dirt in centerfield.
