A below average field for most of the year. How anyway could review it positively is beyond me. I've played on this field every Tuesday for the past four years. The outfield is mowed as infrequently as possible. The dirt has been choppy and dangerous for the infielders and baserunners on many occasions. Rutted basepaths, deep grooves in the batter's box. Tonight the lights just never turned on. Those overhead lights, semi-adequate for seeing fly balls at night, are on a timer. All other fields (the other two dirt diamonds and the distant turf) were lit. Just our corner section was out. It's not a conspiracy; it's just silly. The city should improve the lighting system, the dirt and lawn maintenance. No more wasted summer nights due to incompetence.
