Went to watch a pickles game. Had a great time. Once the sun was behind the trees in the evening..it got a little cool. Hots were good, corn dog was great, fries were..so so. Nice selection of beverages in cans .. and although the lines were long, they moved quickly. They had an order online option, but I saw no need to use it. Plenty of clean restrooms. Sure, the prices are ball park prices.. so you can expect to spend some money. But they don't take cash. So be prepared. All in all. Good time! And the pickles won!

We love everything about this place except for the fact that there are only 5-6 real bathrooms for everyone to use which sometimes results in a long line. There are port o potties seat from the stands. Sometimes they run out of certain foods (pretzels, small hotdogs) so don't wait too long to order.

Walker Stadium is a terrific place to see a ballgame. For late afternoon or evening games, look for seating along the third base side of the field - unlike most major league parks, where the pitcher is throwing from east to west (fun fact - 'southpaw' comes from the direction that a left handed pitcher's arm faces), here the orientation is northwest to southeast, so the sun will be in your eyes if you're on the first base side. The Pickles are college summer development organization, similar to the Cape Cod League - it's nice to see these kids working on their skills. Food and drinks are tasty and reasonably priced, and the folks running the Pickles deliver on a family oriented destination. 2022 update: We've done a couple of family outings, and have purchased a picnic table in the outfield. In pandemic times, it means we're able to keep our distance from other fans, and as a group, it gives everyone the chance to interact better than we could in traditional seats. Be aware, though, that you'll either need to turn your head to watch the game, or sit sideways on the benches. A wonderful benefit to outfield seating is proximity to the bullpens - it's wonderful to be able to watch the pitchers warm up, and to hear the players yakking among themselves, or with the players on the field. The laid back environment at this wonderful little ballfield is perfect for Portland. Pickles games are perfect for groups of any size. Be aware that street parking may leave you walking a fair distance to get to the game.
