Seven years ago, at Angels Stadium. It was Children's Day in America, so there were events for children. The kids were more excited about the kids than the baseball itself. The parents were crazy about Ohtani. Ohtani played as a batter but unfortunately didn't get a hit. He had hit home runs the day before and the day before that, and I regretted being sightseeing in LA instead. Our seats were near the border with the outfield on the first base side. At the time, adult tickets were 4000 yen, and children's tickets were a special Children's Day price of around 500 yen. We also received Trout jerseys as gifts. Angels Stadium was practically empty that day, and we were sitting in uncovered seats under the scorching sun, but a kind staff member told us we could move to covered seats because of the risk of heatstroke. I was very grateful. Ohtani is now with the Dodgers, but the stadium has a huge parking lot and is perfect for going by car. I want to go again.

I've been to several games, including the one where Shohei Ohtani hit his 44th home run, bringing the excitement to a fever pitch, only to be taken out of the game after the pitching break (he ended up suffering ligament damage). In Anaheim, the first typhoon in decades forced the game to be postponed until the day before, and my flight arrival time meant my tickets went to waste, which was a shame. But it was still great to finally see Shohei Ohtani hit a home run. It's been about 20 years since I last visited Angel Stadium, when Shigetoshi Hasegawa was there. This time, I rented a car to get to the stadium. Parking cost about $20. It feels like it should be free, considering it's a large rural area, but it's still charged. Parking often costs around $20 even when staying at a hotel. Some hotels don't charge this fee, so it's important to do your research before renting a car. There were a lot of Japanese people at the stadium, especially on the third base side (the Angels' side). During day games, the sun is quite strong on the third base side, so it's a good idea to wear sunscreen and long sleeves. Also, seats under a roof a little further from the field may be better as they offer more shade. Ohtani's uniforms are available at stores just inside the venue, but Japanese sizes tend to sell out quickly. There are several stores on the second floor, so if you're waiting in line on the first floor, it's a good idea to head to the second-floor store first. I think there was more City Connect merchandise on the second floor. Food and drink are quite expensive inside the stadium, so I hesitate to go if you're attending multiple games. Unopened water bottles and packed lunches are allowed, so you can put them in a clear bag. There are certain sizes available, so check to see what size is appropriate. What was interesting was that the male announcer introducing the Angels' players was very loud and enthusiastic, but when introducing the opposing team, he introduced them in a very low, whispered voice. It's a bit disappointing that the Angels have been losing momentum since August, but it was a great stadium.
