My sister-in-law and I enrolled our kids at Arizona Sports Complex, where they played for about three years. When we first started, the place was full of life, large teams, full bleachers, great energy, and a busy concession stand. Over time, though, participation declined, the bleachers emptied, concessions closed, and even the vending machines were full of expired items. Coaching was fair, but there was little consistency from season to season. The real issue came when aggression and bullying, both from players and parents, started increasing. When I tried to speak with management, I was directed to email Deb Marquez. Her response felt like a generic corporate statement that didn’t actually address the concern. The final straw came when my daughter was publicly demoted by a new coach, someone not involved in previous issues, who admitted he was told to do so by none other than Deb Marquez. It was humiliating for her and deeply disappointing for us as parents. After that, we left ASC and joined a club team that values respect, consistency, and development, everything we had hoped ASC would provide.

This place stinks. Used to be good, but anymore I question why I still play here. The place is run terribly and management doesn’t care. If you have a complaint about anything, just forget about it, it’s not getting addressed. Consistently losing teams and players who have been there for decades due to high team fees, poor management, double booking, inconsistent rule enforcement, significantly below average officiating and just flat out bad or even no communication if games are cancelled or leagues are combined. And good luck if they screw you over, which they will, time and time again, there’s no refunds no nothing. Place is dying to get every last dollar possible and trust me, with their management, they need it. Update: Had a call with the CAO that felt like it was productive, but the very next session our team got bumped up a division after very clearly stating that we had no interest in moving up a level when asked. What’s the point in asking if you just ignore us? Now my team that was already at that level and this team are a conflict and myself and my significant other must decide which team to play on and which team to leave out to dry. Extremely frustrating considering that moving teams without proper notice was one of my complaints that we had discussed in our call as well as poor communication which didn’t change either by the looks of it.

I’ve been a loyal member of Arizona Sports Complex for many years, and it truly saddens me to see how far the quality has fallen. What used to be a fun, well-run place to play has become frustrating, disorganized, and unfair. This season highlighted just how careless the management has become. Because there weren’t enough teams, they combined divisions. We ended up with two teams made up of the same girls—something we told the manager about immediately. Instead of fixing the issue, they scheduled us at the exact same times for three weeks in a row and even placed us in the same division. Before, we weren’t in the same division, but due to their lack of effort, we suddenly were. They didn’t even try adding a free agent team to help balance things out. Honestly, it just felt incredibly lazy. When we asked for a solution, we were told it’s “company policy” and that no refunds would be issued—even though we paid for two full teams. To make matters worse, Billy, who handles scheduling, wouldn’t even move one team down because apparently we’re “too good.” Yet season after season, other teams are allowed to play way below their level without any issue. That’s not just unfair—it’s selfish. We’re not asking for special treatment, only fairness and the chance to play the games we’ve paid for. Instead, we’ve been left paying double and getting half the experience. It’s heartbreaking to see how little the management seems to care about the players and families who have supported this place for years. The lack of communication, costly fees, and unwillingness to fix obvious problems are driving people away. And sadly, Arizona Sports Complex is losing business because of it.

Get place for youth soccer development. The coaching is top notch. Coach Derek and coach Mo are the best. My son has been playing here since he was 6 and loves the practices and games. Way better than any recreational league.
