Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best paper for a printable baseball scorecard?
For a single game, 20 lb copy paper works fine. For a scorecard you will carry around on a clipboard in the dugout all season, upgrade to 32 lb paper or lightweight cardstock — it holds up better to repeated writing and erasing.
How do I print the scorecard without losing the edges?
Set print margins to "default" or "normal" in your PDF viewer. Disable "fit to page" and set scale to 100%. The scorecard has built-in margins, so shrinking it further makes the cells too small to write in.
Should I print the scorecard in color or black and white?
Black and white is fine — all our scorecards use only navy and tan for accents. Color adds nothing functional. Printing in B&W saves ink and works on any printer.
Can I print the scorecard double-sided?
Yes, if you want one game per sheet (front and back for the two teams). Make sure both sides are the same orientation (both landscape) or the pages flip wrong when you turn the sheet.
Is the printable baseball scorecard actually free?
Yes, completely free. No email signup required for the standard 7-inning and 9-inning scorecards. Download, print, use. We do offer an optional free account for premium templates with DP/FLEX and advanced tracking.
What is the best printer for scorecards?
Any laser or inkjet works. Laser printers produce cleaner lines and do not smudge — nice when rain or sweat hit the scorecard during a game. Inkjets are fine if you let the ink dry before putting the sheet in the dugout.
How many printable scorecards should I bring to a game?
Always two. One for you, one as backup. Tournaments? Bring 5. The scorecard is easy to lose, rip, or have a drink spilled on. Having a spare means you are never the coach asking the opposing bench to borrow a form.
