Mental Drill: Make Fewer Errors With Mental Skills For Softball Infielders (Softball)

Mental training techniques specifically for infielders to reduce errors through improved focus, confidence, and error recovery strategies.

Instructions

Technique 1: PRE-PITCH PREPARATION - Visualize ball coming to you and successful play. Mentally rehearse each position and situation. Technique 2: POSITIVE SELF-TALK - Replace negative thoughts ("Don't make error") with positive focus ("Soft hands, smooth transfer"). Technique 3: QUICK RESET - After error, take breath, refocus on next pitch. Use physical cue like touching hat or glove to reset mentally. Technique 4: PROCESS FOCUS - Concentrate on controllables: feet, glove work, throwing mechanics. Let outcome take care of itself. Technique 5: CONFIDENCE BUILDING - Keep success journal, recall past great plays, trust your training. Technique 6: PRESSURE TRAINING - Practice under pressure to desensitize and build confidence in clutch moments.
