How to Run This Drill
- Step 1: BREATHE - Take deep breath to reset nervous system and reduce tension. Inhale for 4 counts, exhale for 6 counts. Step 2: FOCUS - Direct attention to relevant task cues. Hitters focus on pitcher, fielders on batter. Block out distractions. Step 3: VISUALIZE - See successful outcome in mind. Hitter sees ball contact, pitcher sees perfect pitch. Step 4: COMPETE - Execute with full commitment and confidence. Trust preparation and skills. Practice this routine between every pitch to maintain consistent mental state. Routine should take 5-10 seconds and become automatic with repetition.
