Fielding Drill: Lead Drill (Baseball & Softball)
Excellent skill drill that gets players used to catching the ball on the run. Develops hand-eye coordination while the fielder is moving and serves as great conditioning for older players.
Instructions
Form one line of players. On "go" command, first player runs while coach throws the ball, leading the fielder. Player must catch ball while running. For younger players, use tennis ball or soft covered ball.
